Hi, this is Celeste. I have been writing poems since 2017 and my low-fantasy crime novel Project Dylan since 2022.
Letters for Creatives is the place where I share my thoughts on writing, creativity, resources for creatives, and interview creators and authors. If you want to get them in your inbox, you can always subscribe! You can now sponsor Letters for Creatives to get your product in front of 600+ writers and creatives.
It would be the fourth year anniversary for this newsletter next month. September is when the new school year starts. It is the month where people think about new projects and ideas.
I have a nudge for something new, something that is out of my comfort zone. I am not jumping head first into it yet as this may take me extra time and effort. If that ever happen, I would have several polls for that.
If you are a new reader, feel free to take a look at the challenges and interviews with creatives and authors:
The past few weeks have not been as smooth. I feel the need to give myself what I need. A emotional and mental health safety net. As I have been learning more about myself since 2017, my essence has not changed.
I have been interested in self-improvement since 2017. There are two sides of that. One side represents working on yourself endlessly and being in monk mode. The other side is burnout and frustration. The middle represents integrating what everything one learns and work on oneself in moderation.
There have been so many times that I have encountered burnout or the sense of feeling lost. That have never happened to me until now that I could create something to get out of this situation.
If you are an entrepreneur, you might know the idea of a swipe file. It is a place where you keep everything that inspires you.
You can make one in different format. It can be a physical folder, a folder on your laptop, folders on different social media platforms. To keep everything in one place, you can choose a format that you can easily have access to.
The swipe file would be personal to each of us as we get motivated by different things. For me, it was Gary Vaynerchuk and now Modern Wisdom podcast, entrepreneaurs and authors who are doing cool things.
My (introverted) version of the swipe file

On a day that you feel great, find some time to create the mental swipe file for your bad days
Sending a virtual hug,

Loved reading your letter. "One side represents working on yourself endlessly and being in monk mode. The other side is burnout and frustration. The middle represents integrating what everything one learns and work on oneself in moderation." Especially this part, the way you explained is splendid. Reading your letter, gives me comfort! Happy Sunday, writer
