Letters for Creatives #6: My favourite poems that I wrote this year
Stay consistent at your craft and you would have a body of work to show
Hello, I am Celeste. Each week I write about creativity and writing. There will be case studies and interviews with writers and artists coming soon.
Since I have been writing poetry consistently for 6 months, I realized that I wrote more than 100 poems since March. I would like to share with you my favourite poems that I wrote. You can read this issue if you want to write better poetry. You can read my poetry on Instagram if you are interested.
The same yet different
It is the same
yet different
Drinking black coffee
Writing with my muse
Reading poetry that
kill me softly
and bring me to tears
Life is so fragile
yet we are stronger
than we think
Rising above
every possible tragedy
Laughing and feeling
all over again
when the sun rises
and shred his light on
fragile yet powerful beings
Melting
There is no reason
why I want to shed tears
Let them have their footprints on paper
Maybe reading about love
melt me to a hedgehog
soft to the touch
Maybe the feeling of being seen
and loved is the only feeling
that we want in these couple ten years
Those words embrace me
with the warmest hug
and let my heart cry in joy
for a moment
Temple
My body is my temple
She knows what is best for me
I listen to her whenever I can
Treating her as sacred as she is
Let me slow down
listen to her needs
in every moment
My body is a temple
I fulfil her desire
and let her move
in her own way
not what others
or my subconscious mind
tell me to
My body is a temple
I am not ashamed of her
as she has a powerful soul in her
that others cannot take away
I honour my body and soul as a temple
A sacred temple
that has fire and water in her
Balancing between fire and water
allows me to feel how strong she can be
being independent
being vulnerable
flourishing from the inside out
Lighthouse
Let go of the past
the dark night of the soul
the people who are not lifting you up
The light shows you what could be
what lies in the corner
A lighthouse that shows you a faint path
Go one step at a time
Follow the light
Let your heart and soul
feel the lightness of life
Let the darkness drag you down
get back up after you are ready
Look at the lighthouse
or the moon
There is always light
even when you doubt it
You would arrive at the lighthouse
before you know it
