The topic of being comfortable with discomfort has been on my mind this week. You become comfortable doing the same thing. Every day becomes a groundhog day. Trying new projects or something that you have never try will bring you a new outcome.
Being comfortable with discomfort prepares you for the unknown in life. It brings you pleasant surprises that you may not expect. You would not be as scared when you get comfortable with discomfort. When it gets too scary, humour is a great way to help you get through difficult days.
Humour as a way to relieve stress
Humour is another way to help you to deal with stress. I listened to female comedians take turns to do a stand-up comedy on Clubhouse. It was so much fun. Leah organized it at the last minute and planned to start a Clubhouse room for stand-up comedy weekly or every other week. Her handle on Clubhouse is @leahlamarr if you are into stand-up comedy. Her Instagram is @leahlamarr and I am not commenting on her latest post.
Yoga as a great tool for life
I used to question why yogis do impossible poses. Reaching for a goal and having progress gives people a sense of stability that life is going the way they want. However, there would be days where we would have no progress or even take a step back.
When I practice balancing yoga pose countless times, I can hold the pose in seconds, or when I practice more, minutes. When you achieve something, you get the invisible badge and tomorrow starts all over again.
This is not meant to discourage you but remind you that it is more important to enjoy the process than chase one goal after another. Do not beat yourself up when you cannot reach a certain goal. Having an inner critic rarely help you move forward and improve. It is more likely to turn into a downward spiral that you do not want.
Having a goal, working towards it while not expecting it to happen overnight would be how I approach a goal.
Indie author spotlight
It was International Women’s Day on Monday. I am sharing my wish list that is filled with poetry books by indie women authors. I am looking forward to reading their books that are beautiful and empowering in their own way. I will have another indie author spotlight when I get the books and finish reading them.
Quillkeepers Press - Soon, A New Day (I am very excited to get this one that has my name in it.)
