Hello, this is Celeste and welcome to the Letters for Creatives newsletter. I have been writing poems since 2017 and fiction since 2022. This is the place where I share my thoughts and find resources for writers and creatives.
Subscribe and join other creatives to receive tips and resources on writing, creativity, Interview With an Artist and Interview With a Creator series.
I started Letters for Creatives in Sep 2020. It has been 3 years and more than 100 issues have been out. If you are looking to start one, this issue would be useful for you.
If you are thinking about starting a project or a newsletter, go and start one!
You don’t need to know what to write, start with what you are interested in
The interview series didn’t happen until the third month. I didn’t feel like I was building a signature for the series until Vol. 5. Just start!
If you don’t know how to get in, find the easiest and free platform to start. You can switch later.
As you are looking to create a series for your project, don’t overthink it. The worst thing is that you stop doing that series.
Work according to my own energy level. As a Projector from the perspective of Human Design, I have experienced burn out for so many freaking times that I am scared. It is not sustainable for me. My expectation of myself and other expectation of me got me to the point of extreme exhaustion. I am not doing that anymore.
Start collaborating with friends to talk about something you are interested in. As you get comfortable doing that with friends, you can reach out to people from all walks of life.
When you are stuck with your creativity, try to take a step back, take care of yourself and do not judge yourself when you do not meet your own expectation
9 thru 100. When you feel like you are ready to work on a creative project (again), congratulations! You can start again!
